✨The Fairy God Doula✨ Just A Positive Pregnancy Test Away
It’s hard to find the words to express the gratitude my husband and I hold for Kayla.
During my pregnancy I was in a place of feeling such a strong need to feel held on a more emotional level. Kayla was so warm and approachable from the very beginning and I knew her presence was exactly what we both needed on our journey.
Kayla conducts herself with such integrity and passion, always leading with love, kindness and transparency.
The information provided to us in the lead up to the birth was so detailed and informative, with nothing off limits.
When things became complex during my labour, Kayla was the calm and loving energy we both needed, holding us and guiding us through the process with such intention and tenderness.
We both would have been lost without her and she is hands down the best investment we could have made to help us prepare for the birth of our daughter. We cannot recommend her enough and will be forever grateful to have had her there with us.
Kayla is magic in human form. We were open to having a doula for our pregnancy and birth but weren't sure what exactly that entailed. When we met Kayla, we knew she was the one for us. The main question I had about having a doula was whether she would support me having pain intervention during labour. Kayla explained that she was 100% there to support whatever we wanted through every step of the process. This was proven over and over as my pregnancy was incredibly difficult and our birth plan changed multiple times. Kayla was a complete godsend through the pregnancy as she came to our house and taught us everything we needed to know and everything we didn't even know we had to know! We didn't have to go to any classes at the hospital which was really important as I had hyperemesis gravidarum and struggled to leave the house. After every meeting with Kayla, we felt so empowered and excited about the birth process. She answers every question; big, small and super personal with knowledge and judgement free.
When our little baby came, we got to witness Kayla in her true element. She has an innate way of just knowing what you need before you need it. Having Kayla in your house is the opposite of what it feels like to have a "guest". She truly takes care of you without you having to ask or delegate. She takes away the mental load and lets you rest and relax in a time when you are running on adrenaline. After every visit with Kayla, I felt strong, empowered and able to keep going through the newborn phase. She fills your cup with positivity, knowledge and personal strength. She is your own personal cheerleader.
I believe that everyone should invest in a doula for their pregnancy and birth. It makes the biggest difference from feeling lost and overwhelmed, to feeling excited and prepared. Kayla is incredibly passionate about caring for mothers and does it so well. She is a true angel and made our experience so much easier and more enjoyable.
Thanks Kayla.
I first moved down to Canberra when I was 18 weeks pregnant with my fiancé. We had no family, friends or support network down here and as you can imagine it was absolutely daunting being pregnant with my first baby. I stumbled across Kayla only by chance and sometimes I think there was someone watching over me that day because from the second we met, I felt an instant friendship and connection. I felt safe knowing Kayla would be on this journey with us.
From our first in person meet, I knew it was the right fit. We went over so much, birth education, my preferences, my mental space going into birth and being a mother - all of it. There wasn't a time I felt even if I was scared or anxious, I couldn't reach out to Kayla to express my concerns. My whole concept of birth and the female body changed the more sessions we did leading up to the birth of my baby boy.
As expected, I went well over my due date, and although getting pressure from the medical team to be induced, I decided against it because there was no reason. If I hadn't work with Kayla, I wouldn't have known my rights as a woman and that I'm in control of my own body and can say no to anything that I don't want. When I tell people I felt empowered going into labor, I really mean it and I can only thank Kayla for that. Birth didn't go as planned, but the whole time I had my beautiful doula by my side, and it just made that day a lot easier. I felt safe, and that's all I ever wanted to feel. From the moment I went into labor to leaving the hospital with my new baby, she was there for us. (Even picking my mum up from the airport, what a legend)
Seeing the look on Kaylas face when she held my beautiful boy for the first time had my heart exploding. The love she had for my son was incredible. It's a moment we will never forget.
So, thank you, Kayla. Thank you for all your postpartum visits, your runs to the shops for me, the constant checkups and support I always received from you, but most of all your friendship. I cannot express my gratitude to you enough, how can I ever repay someone for being there on the best day of my life and making it just that easier.
Pregnant with our first baby, my partner and I felt like we were flying blind and nervous going into our daughters birth.
Finding Kayla and having her as our Doula changed everything for us.
From our first appointment we were met with an incredible amount of information and education for both my partner and I about the choices that we didn’t even know we had going into the birthing process.
Having Kayla with us for the birth as well as extra postpartum support has been incredible.
We went into the birth feeling confident, calm and so supported both mentally and physically.
When it was time to make decisions when giving birth we were able to rely on the knowledge we were given to help make those decisions without feeling pressured or forced into anything that we might have been uncomfortable with.
Kayla is so passionate about her job as a doula, I could not recommend her enough to those women and their partners who feel as if they need more support and education wether that may be physical, mental or both in the lead up to labour and birth.
Kayla did a wonderful job supporting us before and after the birth of our first child. While it was disappointing that covid restrictions meant Kayla was unable to be with us during labour and the birth, we really appreciated the support we did get from her.
We particularly appreciated Kayla’s rational guidance when I was being pressurised towards induction due to being well past my estimated due date. Thanks to Kayla’s help I was able to make the right decision, based on the information available, for my baby and I.
If we choose to have another baby, Kayla will be our first choice as a doula. Kayla is supportive, calm, fun to be around, remarkably well informed and we felt an instant connection with her, which made it easy to be open about what we were feeling
Kayla was I absolutely amazing throughout my pregnancy journey, not only to me, but also my partner and kids. She went above and beyond for us the whole time, providing us with heaps of information and support. This really helped me when I went into labour. When Rafa was born, Kayla made a home visit and made me a delicious fruit salad 🍉 and kept me company 🥰 I honestly couldn't recommend her more, having her as my Doula was one of the best decisions and so beneficial throughout my pregnancy, and I don't regret it one bit. She went above and beyond 🥰
